Showcase Series: A Conversation about  Maryland’s Health Equity Policies

On Tuesday, July 26, Drs. Lisa Cooper and Deidra Crews will discuss Maryland’s Health Equity Policies as part of the Johns Hopkins State Affairs Team’s “Showcase Series,” a virtual discussion series, open to the public, covering a variety of Johns Hopkins programs that have a direct impact on the quality of life of Marylanders.

Dr. Cooper and Dr. Crews will describe the evolution of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Equity since its establishment in 2010,  including its research and training programs, focusing on how the Center has promoted equity in health and health care in Maryland through research, community engagement, education and leadership development, and policy translation. They will highlight current programs, including the Mid-Atlantic Center for Cardiometabolic Health Equity (MACCHE) a program that is testing the effectiveness of comprehensive, integrated, and multi-level programs for improving cardiometabolic health outcomes among socially marginalized populations in Maryland.
